For ages, I really thought that handing out Christmas cards was an old thing to do which almost nobody I knew of was thinking about doing. I no longer think that and I now give Christmas cards to everyone in my address book. It's heaps of fun to post and get cards with the post and it's also an excellent way to keep in contact with friends and family who I may not manage to speak to during the year.
