When I was a kid, I thought giving Christmas cards was an outdated kind of tradition which no one of my age was interested in doing. I have since changed my mind and I now post Christmas cards to all my friends and family. It's a lot of fun to give and get cards in the mail and it's also a fun way to remain in contact with friends and family who I might not otherwise be able to see during the year.
